Learbing by Doing or Learning by Reading? For thousands of years, books have been reputated as the staircase for human advance. Forming a habit is often regarded as a most praisable quality. All saints turned out to be huge knowledge consumers. However, does that mean reading is the best form of learnnig? Not necessarily. Just because it is done that way doesn't mean it's great. Reading, searving as a main means of knowledge absorption, has run into a strong competitor-- doing. In the old days when traveling was not amiable and effortless, people had fewer sources as to get to know the world. They could only see things in their proximity. If they wanted or needed to learn about things they and their neighbors never saw, they would have to refer to books. They did that because it seemed the most efficient. Learning by reading has seen its opportunity nowadays. people now are not confinded to a certain area. They can go wherever tey like. stignant small town life has turned into metropilis diversity. They can gain access to almost anything. If they like, they can choose to experience them themslves instead of feeling trough others' descripitions. particiaption puts them in the real situation where they need to think and cope, positively process other than negatively accepting. This is why a foreign language is picked way more quickly in a place where it is spoken than in a calssroom where is used only occasionally. considering what has been stated, reading used to be, and still is, a good way of learning. But doing has emerged as a even better way.
