As the tourism developed these years, more and more people enjoy travelling during vacations, away from offices and smell the flowers. While when people are having fun on beaches or mountains, pollution may come insidiously. Recently, the issue of pollution of our environment was hotly debated. Some people worry that too many tourists may bring harm to the environment, but in my opinion, the problem of whether the environment will be polluted or not depends not on the amount of tourists, but the virtues of tourists. Virtues represent people’s morality standard and the understanding of the relationship between creature and environment. People with great virtues seldom behave rude or unrespect to not only human beings but also environment. As for the development of virtues, teachers, parents and the whole society are responsible for it. for instance, Singapore is known as the city garden for its neat streets and buildings. Trees and flowers can be seen everywhere which brings clean air and bright sightseeing. The amount of people there is quite large, but there’s no gum, no rubbish and no one spit on the street, where there are no signs to remind them. It’s the inveterate virtues inside their hearts that help to keep their good manners and the responsibility of protecting the environment. Let’s look at china then. Plastic bags and rubbish are placed everywhere, spitting on the streets seems to be the common phenomenon, and “XX are here” words are written every corner of monuments. I have to say that lacking of virtues causes pollution. Tourism brings people happiness and relaxation, while tourists’ behavior towards the environment decides the deadline of the happiness. So too many tourists will never bring harm to the environment as long as virtues grow in people’s hearts.
