Are Dialects Just as Acceptable in Public Places? Dialects exist among many a few districts and nations as a mother language in people's heart and mind. However, are they just as acceptable in public places? In my point of view, dialects are unacceptable in publics. We should ban the open use of them just like France banned the craft of religions in Paris. There are three main reasons that account for my perspectives. First, it's unsafe for people to speak with their own dialects in public palces under some conditions. Taking the event that happened in railway station last year as an example, two little girls are talking about their plans about the journal in dialect language. In the meanwhile, a man who speaks the same dialect pretended to be friendly and chatted with them. But what happened next was that two innocent girls were misled by him and were cheated all money juat because they have identical dialects. Second, it will harm the spirit of unity of the community. As the Chinese old saying gose:Birds of a feather flock together and people of one mind fall into the same group. So it is the same for different dialects. If people always talk with his/her own "friends" who speak the same, how can they get along well with other dialects' people? Therefor, please just forget your own dialects for a while and join the whole community by speaking the most common language. Last but not least, pride and prejudice, disliking and detested will accur when some of them enjoy their own dialects among a group of people. I want to share my own experience a few days ago. I went to canteen with my classmate and we came across her friend. Then they started to chat with their own dialects, ignoring my existence at all. To be honest, I felt very uncomfortable and thought they were prejudiced. Finally, I stopped their enjoyable conversation euphemistically and managed to join them. Therefore, dialects are absolutely not siutable and acceptable in public places because they would bring more or less problems for the society. We respect all kinds of dialects as precious cultual heritage and everyone of us also deserve respect.
