There are thousands of hundreds languages in the world. Every country has their mother language. What's more, a country has many kinds of dialects. For instance, China is a developing country with huge land. Almost every province has their own dialects, some of them have more than one kind of dialect. Recently, a hot topic about dialects has aroused a controversy. Are dialects just as acceptable in public places? Some people suppose that it is not impolite to speak dialects in public places. Other people hold the different view. As far as I am concerned, I advocate that it is not such a big deal to speak dialects in public places. I have some reasons to support my opinion. Firstly, different dialects can enrich culture. Language is a fundation in human's life. Every kind of dialect has its own history and culture deposits. It is not adoptable to discard dialects for advocating speaking official language. If we get used to speaking mandarin in our daily life, dialects would fade out in the world. Nowadays, some schools claim that students should speak mandarin in school, which leads to a result that many students can't speak local dialects. Secondly, Dialect is as a kind of symbol in every province. People will be pleased to make an acquaintance with people who grow up in the same land when they are in a strange city. Dialects can make people with the same dialects feel warm. People can make friends according to their accent and dialects in a strange city. Besides, when people want to say a secret with friend in the public places, they can speak dialects when people around can't not follow what he says. Thirdly, some people hold disapproval think that it it offensive to speak dialects in public places. In my opinion, speaking dialects is far away from speaking dirty words. Speaking dialects is also a kind of language, it is not fair to allow to speak mandarin while forbid dialects in public places. What we should forbid is speaking offensive words or dirty words and talking loudly in public places. To conclude, dialects are acceptable in public places. Dialect is a kind of language, culture, symbol in the world. Different notes make a beautiful song. We should deliver dialects to next generation. Dialects should not be forgotten by local people. Moreover, Dialects can be a decoration for a city.
