As a proverb says, All men are created equal. Do you trust it ? At least, David Ortiz doesn’t. Who is he ? David Ortiz, nicknamed "Big Papi", is a Dominican-American professional baseball player for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Nevertheless, in some people's minds, he will always be considered a cheater due to his amazing performance. They think he fits the profile of a steroid user. Thus, he has been tested more than 80 times since 2004. Fortunately, he has never failed a single one of those tests. Hmm…..wait ! I seemed to use an improper word - -“Fortunately”. In fact, he deserves these results because he has never taken steroid, and he never will. But, even if he has passed all the comprehensive drug testing, some vicious people are still screaming, “Cheater, cheater, cheater!” Even his son once came up to him with tears in his eyes and he says, “Dad, why are they calling you a cheater? As a father, that's a moment he’s never prepared for. However, he doesn’t give himself over to grief. More than being passive, he chooses to be active. When it comes to his hometown, he grew up in a neighborhood where there was a shooting every day, and he once saw people get killed right in front of him. In contrast, when he’s at the plate, he really feels like he’s in heaven. At least, nobody's trying to kill him. Now, he is out here in front of the world living his dream. He’s here to bring joy to this game, which is a thinking man's game. He becomes a great hitter because of his mental preparation. Less than two weeks ago, he hit 500th career home run. Life's a struggle, that is why you have to keep fighting all the time. Even if you will never be somebody eventually. At least, you will never be nobody all your life. David Ortiz is a perfect example—From zero to hero. Life is never fair, but you can’t make it fail.
