Information explosion is a common phenomenon due to the booming development and popularity of the Internet. Without doubt, information explosion has deep but mostly adverse effects on our daily life. And I can't agree more with the saying"A wealth of information creates a poverty of attention." Just take my own experience for example, I used to be an addict and a victim of information explosion. At that time, I wasted lots of time on reading quick news and useless comments from wechat, zhihu and so on. My foolishness was to be blamed that I was too childish to find out the drawbacks of wasting mass of time on information explosion. The information is massive but always shallow, which failed to help us get anything valuable. What is worse, I failed to concerntrateon my study because of my addiction to information explosion. It is until I got terrible grades at my end-of-term exam that I realized that I should get rid of the bad habit of killing massive time on useless information. I conclude three points to avoid being distracted by information explosion. Firstly, we should be aware the drawbacks of wasting time on information explosion. Secondly, it is critical for us to set a time to dive into what we should do, and during that time we should forbid us to read any wechat and so on. Last but not least, it is high time that we should form a good habit of reading books, thinking indepentdently and taking notes . I believe that we can make full use of information instead of becoming the slave of information explosion so long as we are determined and possess critical thinkings.
