No one could deny that the pressure on children shoulder is increasingly heavy: from above, through their parents with ever-higher expectations, and from blow, through their peers most of whom try their best to compete against each other. Therefore, some activities, for example playing sports, are necessary to alleviate their tremendous pressure. But, recently, some people adocate that children should play sports only for fun rather than in competitions. From my perspectives, I prefer to the point that children play sports for competitions. Admittedly, while playing sports for fun can mostly release children from burdensome assignments of school, sports for contests can build the sense of competition, which would benefit their future career. Under a circumstance of globalization, the competition progressively becomes fierce, no matter between nations, societies, and/or individuals. Only a nation or person equipped with the ability of competition, can he stand up in this competitive community. What's more, sports for contests don't mean that there is no fun for children who participate in. On the contrary, the participants in a certain kind of sport, such as basketball, enjoy the most fun, bringing about by the sport itself. Always the sporters will be divided into several groups with 4 or 5 persons each, the competition between each group not only give these players fun, but also cultivate their team-spirit and aspiration for win, with which can lead them a further success in their future careers. Therefore, no discrepancy exists between playing sports for fun or for a competition. Conversely, doing sports in contests will promote the fun players acquire in it.
