At present day, rapid developing science and technology bring us unprecedented convenience and changes. Needless to say, high technology is a great exploit for human's life, however, there are things which have been existing without science and technology for centuries and people still value them as a supreme element of life. These things are named arts, such as painting, music, dancing and writing and so on; most significant is that they give us opportunities to realize our lives as science technology can not. As we all have known, arts have been enriching our recreational lives for thousands of years not only for the people in the high level social class but also for those who live in poverty. The key of arts can draw so many people's attention and attraction is that it is capable to spark people's spirit when people need endeavour, happiness, comfort and so on; arts just can give everything to people spiritually. For example, the greatest musician Beethovan, in the World War Two, his music juiced people with power to rebuild their homes. In China, a stately hand writing moto left by ancestors in a family could stimulate their descendants to endeavour for a better family reputation. Those spiritual benefits suppoted by arts are what make the science and technology too far behind to catch up with. By contrast, science and technology surely make our lives easy, meanwhile, they also make people feel lonely. For example, the invention of smart phone saves our time of information transmission instead of sending mails in weeks which is quite a time cost. In addition, it comes along with the drawbacks which are people started to look down at the smart phone screen only and stop having conversation face to face. The computer and mechanical development increase the productivity but deprive some people of jobs and health. Presumably, science and technology is more a humanity taker and detrimental reliance than a revolution maker. Altogether, arts still play the vital role in the human's spiritual life as leading people to pure their souls and to exploit excellent life. Science and technology should not be ignored as it can enhance the quality of life, but a healthier way of applying it is necessary to be considered.
