How fascinating, striking and compelling the illustration above is! What the illustrator evidently portrays in this drawing is that the young and the old help each other. In the left image, a middle-aged mother is leading his baby daughter, while in the right one, the already grown-up daughter is supporting her aged mother. Few things could be as thought-provoking as the given cartoon. Indeed, it is so instructive that no matter who in front of the picture cannot help being attracted. Obviously, what the drawer virtually attempts to mirror is anything but simple. It goes far beyond any reasonable dispute that it is indicative of a pretty prevalent social pheromone: when we are young, our parents offer us all of the love of their unconditionally; when they are old, we must provide them all of the care of our considerately. It should be noted, certainly, that such happenings are now available anywhere in our neighborhood and around the world. In practice, the previous of the few decades has witnessed the growing incidence of abusing or neglecting of the old. And reports of the phenomenon can be readily found throughout the mass media. Much can be done. The mass media and schools of all levels, fore and most, could function as a counterbalance, doing its utmost to awaken the general public to the significance of intergenerational help. Moreover, it is the responsibility of the government to curb the behavior of abusing the elderly. I am strongly convinced that however much importance we attach to such cases, it is far from enough.
