IQ-test, an outdating and inaccurate way of assessing the ability of an individual We have long believed in the results of IQ tests. Mentally at least, we believe that the IQ score, representing the intelligence level of an individual, does make a difference. Despite the comments like 'Intelligence is not everything.' or 'Hard work counts.', which are also prevailing worldwide, people still attach much more importance to the IQ test. However, I found that the IQ scores are invalid and unpersuasive after reading the passage. The passage indicates various abilities which people possess. Linguistic and logical-mathematical intelligence, which plays the most important role in IQ tests, appears to be a very tiny part of human intelligence. People have always overestimated the influence of the two mentioned above, and never even notice that the rest is important as equal. The wrong recognition of human intelligence and the seemingly superstitious belief in IQ tests might lead to a devastating result, under which circumstance, it seems that people with linguistic and logical-mathematical are born superior. However, those with other skills can never make the most of of their abilities because they are believed to be less brilliant and even, inferior to the previous ones. Such inequality could bring about the result that hundreds and thousands of people are prevented from making contributions as a consequence of prejudice. We really ought to abolish the IQ test for the sake of human beings. We could devise a new and valid way to assess the real abilities of an individual, otherwise, maybe we can do something easier, just treat everyone equally.
