The Meaning of Communication When I was still living in dorm in my school life, together with another three girls, I always felt myself lucky enough to live with these three open-minded and lovely girls. We seldom quarreled for the trivial things in our dorm life. And I took it for granted that everyone should be the same as us, owning a harmonious dorm life, until more and more friends of mine complained their so-called odious roommates to me. Performed as a listener for several times, I still had no idea to help, but I found out the common reasons of their conflicts, which was lack of communication. They never told their roommates directly about using scissors，clothes-hangers or other little things for a long time without giving back, or never told their roommates about their sensitive topics, which they pretended to be indifferent but really cared, however, they kept telling me, a outsider. People tend to avoid communicating for many reasons. Some are afraid of in face of direct conflicts, others are afraid of feeling embarrassed. They believe time will solve the problems. However, time is not almighty, sometimes it makes things worse, such as the relationships between people. Actually, in the area of human relations, communication always works. The meaning of communication is to promote understandings, which is the key of having good relations and cooperation. In the basis of all-round understandings, one will know the taboos and the best way in dealing with a certain relation or task.
