Nowadays, more and more people living in large cities are feeling and complaining that their life quality is decreasing obviously, although these big cities are seeing more and more modern technology and facilities being applied and equipped, which should have given them more sense of happiness. What is wrong with the city development? Based upon my observation, the life quality is mainly worsening in these aspects: environment pollution is deteriorating, including air, water and soil pollution; the quality of food and drink is also diminishing; the most obvious and serious is the human’s spiritual depression, stress or other mental and psychological issues. The environmental pollution and its negative effects against people’s life, based upon both our common sense and scientific analysis, are caused by the unreasonable exploring and application of natural resources; while the reasons for spiritual and mental problems should be attributed to the increasing heavy work load and soaring housing price and other working and living burden. In the face of so many problems, the solution normally involves the following measures to be taken either by the governments or by the common people: Explore and develop new type of energy to substitute fossil energy as much as possible so that make the air and water cleaner; Strictly limits the use of fertilizer and pesticides for farming in order to guarantee the agricultural crop’s quality, finally secure our food safety; Improve the central government and local authorities’ governing ability to ensure that the policies adopted are suitable for solving the problems, instead of just curing the facial ails and neglecting the root reasons. The employers and organizations should introduce appropriate humanitarian caring programs, even provide special arenas for employees to relax and take body building; if conditions are allowed, the organizations can invite specialists in the field of religion to introduce some religious practices for its staff. In one word, no matter what problems they are, only if we input our love and wisdom, all the above-mentioned environmental and mental issues can be addressed and solved gradually and successfully.
