Thus , the differences of their characteristics do not be the barrier to establish their new friend relationship. For Chinese, friendship bases on the appreciation for each other. It is impossible for the traditional Chinese to make friend with person who has a totally different characteristic. Even though they can become friends, the time of lasting the friendship is short-lived. Individualism have a great impact on American’s thoughts. They usually do not change themselves for catering for others, which is the reason why the six old friends still keep their characteristic all the time. all changes came from their internal change. Chinese has been influence by the Confucianism. “harmony” turns into the idea praising highly. Naturally, Chinese tend to seek for consistency in order to maintain the long term friendship. So they express their opinions more euphemistic and more indirect even if they confront with the conflicts of friend characteristic.
