It is not uncommon that the aging population is sustainable increasing in many countries. Discussion now concentrates on whether quality of the elder’s life improved nowadays. In my opinion, it is clear that the quality of older people’s material life is much better than decades before; however, unfortunately, the spiritual life of old people shows an opposite trend. With the development of economy, many countries pay more attention to social welfare, especially pension for the elder. As a result, people usually have enough money to enjoy their retirement lives by traveling or taking care of their own gardens. In addition, many elder people can get money from their sons or daughters regularly, which is traditional in many areas. However, it is unfair to say that only if elder people have enough money they will live a happy life. Many of them feel lonely without accompany by their relatives, because the younger always have heavy workload in daily life so that they have almost no time to keep the elder accompany , The fact that there are many old people going for a walk in the garden with their pets shows that how lonely they are. The care from the next generation cannot be replaced by their pets. In conclusion, we should pay more attention to elder people’s spiritual life, although the material life of them has developed a lot.
