Convenient but Not Wise Currently, making friends online has already been one of the modern popularities, especially among young generations. While the convenience it brings up cannot be denied, making online friends is hardly to be regarded as a wise method, for potential deceit in the internet and gradual coldness between friends in reality. Friends online has a chance to deceive, since the identity is under secret. People tend to provide for others with fake information to protect themselves or for some evil motives on the internet. However, it is strange that such false information is so trusted to young people willing to make friends, even if they offer similar false information online for themselves. There has been a joke that” You will never know whether that is a dog or a person behind the computer” Such potential cheat on the internet makes making friends online unwise, risking property loss and feelings hurt. Furthermore, too much devotion to making friends online increases the ignorance of friends in real life, who are really able to and willing to give their shoulders when things go wrong. It takes time to develop friendships and take care of it, especially the friendship between the young. Should people spend too much time and energy on making online friends, friends in reality are more distant for time and tide fading friendship away. It is not a wise choice to acknowledge unknown people online instead of getting well with friends in reality. It is potential deceit, gradual coldness and some other reasons that lead to making friends online an unwise choice. It is undoubted that making friends on the internet is convenient, however, its disadvantages seem to outweigh advantages, which indeed needs cautious consideration of people, especially the young people.
