In recent years, people are attaching that human activities are threatening to plants and animals species. This phenomenon has been brought to public attention with people standing on two sides. Some people are of the opinion that it is too late to do anything about this problem. But another people believe that effective measures can be taken to improve this situation. People who think that protecting the environment is too late give some of the following reasons.Firstly, human activities impact the environment, including clearing agricultural land;air, land and water pollution;urban and subueban development, and the introduction of invasive or non-native wildlife species.secondly, the earth appears to be warming due to the greenhouse effect. The change in the global climate have had disastrous results, including drought, coastal flooding and increased species extinction. The results are dreadful to the plants and animals, and hardly to improve in the short term. However, the other side of coin voices its strong opposition, saying that it is important to carrying out throughout the globe large-scale measures for pollution prevention and controlling as well as ecological environment protection.Practice has proved that the principle adopted by striking balance between the environment and the society development, the environment has been effective. And for personal,we also can do something for being beneficial to environment, such as picking up trash, rubbish recycling, taking public traffic. As far as I am concerned, I am inclined to be on the side of latter view.Sometimes human activities are harmful to the environment, but human activities can also improve the situation. The advanced technology can help us inform the suitable environment for plants and animals growing. And we can find a way to avoid disturbing just 1 to 2 percent of the land furface, nearly 70 percent of the world’s terrestrial species might be able to survive. So we should be done as soon as possible to protect plants and animals species from the negative effects of human activities.
