From my perspective, tourism is probably destructive for local environment for the excessive exploitation of the tourist attractions and the tourists’ unawareness of preserving the scenic spots well. Tourism has a chance to lead to the excessive exploitation the local environment only in pursuit of profit. It is inevitable that the exploitation and development of tourist attractions are accompanied by a series of construction issues more than only the attractions themselves. Restaurants need to be built to cater to tourists, while roads should wind their ways to the tourist destinations, letting alone the short of many other public facilities. It is undoubted that such huge tasks potentially exhaust local resources to make a tourist attraction excellent. What’s more, the constructions themselves have a probably destructive effect on the local environment. In addition, the travelers will bring some harm to the environment as well, since the uncivilized actions can be seen everywhere. It is the lack of awareness of preserving the tourist attractions and local environment that contribute to more profound harm to the eco-environment. Littering everywhere, scribbling in the scenic spots, and even carving something, such uncivilized actions have an ever-lasting influence on the environment, which may end in pollution of air, water and ground, or even the severe deterioration of the eco-environment. All in all, it is difficult to reduce the harm to the environment of the tourism, since the tourism does not place much emphasis on the protection of the environment, whose goal is to gain as much profit as possible. In face of the booming tourism, people should calm down and consider the potential threat to the environment.
