Whether the price of air travel should be cheap or not is always being a controversial problem on the society. Different voices come with their sakes. Those who advocate cheaper price believe that air companies and government should make effort on giving ordinary people freedom to travel further. While the others think that the over use of planes leads to environmental problem so air travel should be more expensive in order to discourage people from having it. As is known to us all, air travel does better than any other kind of transport on speed and comfort. Despite of its high price, there still be numerous people travel by air, enjoying the exhilarating experience of flying in the sky with white clouds stretching long and sunshine glinting in front of their eyes. Besides, air travel breaks the obstacle of long distance, which allows us to travel to anywhere of the world in such a short amount of time. Hence, it’s reasonable to lower the price of plane ticket in order to allow people of any income level travelling by air. However, the opponents must think like,“if only we could reduce the environment pollution planes cause can we consider the possibility of lowing the price of air travel.”Admittedly, the fume of the plane releases contains high doses of different harmful substances, severely polluting the air and harming our body health. The harmful substances spread into the air and are absorbed into our lungs when we breathe. Furthermore, high concentration of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases the plane releases are part of the reason of global warming. Besides, some assiduously kind of pollution such as noise pollution also keep us from enjoying a peaceful life. Considering all above, keeping a high-price air travel can surely control environmental pollution in some extent. In my opinion, the price of air travel could be cheaper a little considering of the low-income people’s welfare, but should never be too cheap since the problem of environmental pollution has already been very serious, while the access of reducing the harmful substances the plane releases is still being researched and the mature technology hasn’t been implied yet. Therefore, it’s worthwhile to sacrifice a little enjoyment of humankind for the welfare of the earth environment.
