I totally agree that one should learn a foreign language in the country in which it is spoken. From my own experience, I have learned English for over ten years, and during my education for mater's degree, I have read over thousands of English articles, but I could not and have little confidence to speak out English with others, even with Chinese. And I sometimes have trouble to write English sentences which express my thought exactly. So, in my thinking, it does little help to improve my foreign language simply by reading. To learn a foreign language, we should involve in a language atmosphere and use it every day. On the other side of the leaf, there is much inconvenience to live in a foreign country in order to learn a foreign language. One has to leave his home, stuck in a totally unfamiliar culture and spend more money. But all of these will be worthy, since we are young, we should learn more cultural differences and extend our horizon; and we have enough time to earn our living by ourselves. What's more, to learn a language by everyday practising and systematic reading, our foundation would be quite solid that benefits us through our whole-life. If I have any chance to learn a foreign language in the country in which it is spoken, I will not have any doubt to take it.
