In the fast-paced society，we can see advertisements everywhere.advertising，undoubtedly，has become a major means of propaganda.It is reported that over 80% of people purchase commodities for advertising. The issue of whether advertising is beneficial or harmful has aroused considerable controversy.The supporters claim that advertisements assist people in getting understanding of products，choosing more suitable commodities and avoiding costing them more energy in choose.Others，however，argue that advertisements sometimes are misleading，exert unfavorable influences on people psychologically as well as threaten people’s death. Weighing both the merits and demerits of advertisements，I claim that the benefits created by advertising far outweigh the disadvantages.The reason for my view mainly lie in the following three aspects.Firstly，advertisements inform us about the latest products on the market.In general，with the help of ads，customers can make shopping more economical and less time-consuming.Secondly,elaborate advertisements can be genuine art form.Instead of wasting our time，creative ads can offer us diverse amusements,thereby immensely brightening up our lives.Finally，some advertisements can motivate people to contribute to charities. To sum up,taking into account all the relevant factors which affect and contribute to the attitude，we may safely conclude that advertising is beneficial to society.
