Moby Dick is the representive work of American novelist Melville.In this novel ,the characters and structure are closely related to the Bible.This thesis aims to analyze biblical Archetypes in Moby Dick.from the analysis of the characters and the plot,we will,and try to get the main construction and ideas of Moby Dick,This thesis is also helpful for the study of biblical archetypes method. The thesis first shows the content and background of the novel and presents the development of biblical archetypes ,Then the thesis discusses the study of biblical archetype and Moby Dick at home and abroad. The thesis also puts forward the classification of Biblical archetypes of the novel writing according to the context. The classification includes the characters and construction, image and salvation in the novel.The conclusing part of the thesis. Summarizes the whole thesis.It mention that studying biblical Archetypes in Moby Dick is necessary and helpful to understand the novel because the characters and the plots of novel are based on the Bible.
