But for thematic studies, criticism has been written concerning the novel’s technical properties,symbolism, the transformation from the first person to the omniscient point of view in presenting the story, the dramatic aspect, etc. And some concerned in the epic and poetic qualities of Moby Dick . The dramatic aspects of the novel have been discussed by a number of critics. Some commentators are taken from traditional myth, others chose literary works.Thompson focused on vision of circling whales,for in Chapter 87, “The Grand Armada” was Canto 28 of the Paradiso.But some critics thought that narrator’s skill in first-person narration in the first chapter imitated the first chapter of Washington Irving’s Sketch-Book.
