Human activities have negative effect on the nartual enviroment as mentioned in many reports. Does this situation could be retrived or just get worse? Some people believe the human activities will definitely break the balance of the natrue, no only in metropolis but also some rural areas. Shanxi is an inland province of China, which is famous for its abundant coal mine. However, after dozens of years' exploitation, the land is riddled with cavities by inordinated mining. The animals lose their home, the trees are cut down and the land itself can not even hold the soil. In that case the problem seems to be insoluble. On the other hand, we have some examples that the situation is improved due to the efforts of people. The Thames River in England was once the most beautiful river of the world. But it is poluted due to the increasing of population in London and the industrialization. The birds and fished disappeared for many years and the river was considered to be a dead river. Finally, people realized the importance of keeping a sustainable relationship with the nature. Laws were made to control the emission of polluted or harmful water to river, and hundreds of sewage treatment plant were set up to purify the water. After 20 years' governance, the river was brought back to life. The fishes were back, the birds were back and people's smile were back. So as people's awareness on treating natrual species kindly increased, more and more measures will be adopted to prevent the enviroment and deal with the problems that already occured. And human activities will do less and less negative effects on plants and animal species as time goes by.
