That the borders between cultures are increasingly vague recently due to the globalization and the the development of modern technology has contributed much to make it easier for people of different parts of the world to travel and work wherever they prefer. In this progress, however, we should not neglect the vital role played by languages. Some of us argue that it is unnecessary to learn a foreign language unless the person is about to have a journey or job abroad while others hold the view that there are extra reasons for people to master another language indeed. As far as I can see,traveling overseas requires not only dedicated budgets of accommodation, food and vehicles, but also adept language skills in order to enjoy the journey and to understand the local stories better. Meanwhile, more and more people are looking for opportunities to find a formal job in other countries while fewer and fewer companies throughout the world are satisfied with employees who can solely speak their mother tongue. Therefore, either to be delighted at the tour or to be sufficiently prepared to meet the demand of employers, it is critical to acquire another language. Apart from reasons discussed above, people attempt to master another language in a number of cases. For instance, students working on their thesis need to read literatures related to their topics , which inevitably include some copies written in a foreign language. Moreover, the grasp of another language helps us probe into the culture of that country, which will lead to an abundant mind and eventually, the well-being of we humans. Personally, traveling or working abroad might be the most important cause of learning foreign languages, but it hardly to serve as the only one, which largely, can be attributed to the inquiring and advancing nature of humanity as well as the pursuit of a better life.
