Advertising discourages people from being different individuals by making us all want to do the same and look the same. Do you agree or disagree?

题目讲解:

题义理解上有那么一点难!但是总之都跟广告有关。

广告使人们都看上去一样,也就是广告的宣传效应会影响人们的消费行为 manipulate people's buying behaviour然后掀起一些特定品牌的时尚create fashion。也就是去写广告的影响力会使一些brands垄断市场monopolise the market。
但是广告其实并不会使人们都一样,我们不能低估人们对于产品质量和个人喜好的理性underestimate people's rationality to products quality and the influence of personal preference.
这么一分析,还是我们说的广告经典题,广告到底能不能影响人们的消费!

It is true that advertisements are playing an increasing important role in the modern society and people are greatly influenced by the abundant ads when they purchase something ; However , I don't think that it is advertisements that make people lose their personal preference and thereby being the same ; advertisements are said to manipulate people's minds by placing the ads day and night; one can encounter different kinds of adverting from various means , being the newspaper to TV programs to billboards ; Owe to that , the more people are exposed to these ads , the more likely they are to buy the same products or services; therefore , it seems as if everyone in the society makes the similar purchase and looks the same ; however , does it really mean that people are completely under the control of these ads and lose their personal preference or characters ? probably not ; the truth is although people may receive the information from advertisements passively or actively , they still have their ideas for what truly fit them; for example , many people in western countries may learn about the latest fashion from TV commercial ,but they won't actually buy what is displayed in advertisements ; they would have a careful consideration of these trendy clothes and in most cases they would avoid buying these clothes because they mind wearing the similar clothes ; therefore , it is not necessary advertisements will make people look identical ; to conclude , advertisements are admittedly a powerful tool in modern business , which effect consumers' decision and life styles , it is not so true that people could lose their individual tastes and personal preference '
