Nowadays, people all over the world prefer to watch foreign films much more than the locally produced ones. Why is this the case? Should the government give financial support to the local film industry?

It is true that foreign films gain wider popularity than domestic ones . Several factors may contribute to this phenomenon.And personally , I think government should not give the local film industry financial support. There are certain reasons why people show more interest in foreign movies ,particularly those from Hollywood . Firstly , these movies are often made in high quality ,with the best casting ,first class director and sophisticated techniques , which allure a large number of fans to watch them .For example , a successful Hollywood film "AVATAR ' included the most advanced technique '3D' at that moment.Therefore , people really enjoyed the film and were more than willing to pay for film tickets . In contrast , domestic films tend to be bored and lack of innovations , compared to foreign ones . The movies produced in China are somehow plain in its plots and every movies share a similar idea .No wonder , few people would see these movies . Personally speaking , I don't think it's necessary for our government to invest any money into promoting the local films . The major reason is there are many other impressing programs waiting for financial supports of our authority .For example, education and housing issues . So thinking of the limited budget government has , it 's better for it to spend it wisely in the urgent areas .Besides , as for local film industry , what it lacks is not only money but an inviting atmosphere .That means , directors and their work should be respected but not being copied illegally . So, perhaps , a more practical way for our government to support the local film business is to enact some laws to punish people who copy other's work illegally . By doing so , more people will be glad to come up with interesting and creative films . To conclude , people appreciate the foreign films ,which have a good reputation for its production .And government had better help local film industry by protecting their intelligence right .
