Dialect as we all know, refers to a kind of language spoken by only a particular group of people and may sound strange to those who know nothing about it. It is this characteristic of peculiarity that brings about the problem of the acceptability of dialect in t public place. I would like to state my opinion that dialect is as acceptable as anything that does no harm to others in public places. In my opinion, the problem of the acceptability of dialect is not confined to the matter of language, but rather a matter of to what extent are we ready to accept new stuff around us and how we view them. In most cases, people refuse to embrace dialects in a public places because they consider that the dialects are rude and thus annoying. Secondly, in a public place, where people who can speak a dialect account for the minority. Therefore it is inconvenient for communication when one part insist on speaking dialect while the other part speak only mandarin.
