The Dragon Boat Festival is a conventional festival celebrated in China. It has been more than two thousand years since the festival was first set up in memory of the famous ancient poet: Qu Yuan. Legend has it that the poet ended his life by jumping into the Li river. The people heard of the story and thought up the idea of throwing boiled rice rapped up with bamboo leaves into the river so that his body wouldn't be eaten up by the fish. For the Chinese, the festival is always celebrated by eating a traditional food called Zongzi, which is a round ball made of rice and meat. What's more, dragon boat contests are held, in which the contestants of each team strive to win the race of boating, while the audiences along the river will cheer for the magnificent scene.
