Facing this phenomenon, some are concerned that it will bring about many side effects while others insist that it should be maintained. Admittedly, travelling abroad has more downsides than one. Firstly, the carbon dioxide emitted by planes is reported to be more then that emitted by other transportation means, which will lead to the ozone layer thinning and thereby increase the rate of patients with skin cancer. Moreover, cross-boarder travelling will facilitate the criminals to flee to other countries after committing crime. However, the downsides cannot overshadow its upsides. Firstly, travelling is a way to broaden individuals' horizons and they will be more productive at work in the future. Moreover, companies can go abroad to visit foreign markets and thereby locate the potential markets for future investments. Businessmen can also purchase the materials on foreign markets if the price of goods is competitively cheaper. Last but not least, going abroad can reduce misunderstanding among people with various cultural background, which will eventually contributes to harmonious and diverse culture. To sum up, despite the numerous drawbacks mentioned above, going abroad will be a positive development.
