Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a short essay based on the picture below. You should start your essay with a brief account of the impact of the Internet on the way people communicate and then explain whether electronic communication can replace face-to-face contact. You should write at least 120 words but no more than 180 words.
From the picture we can see clearly that the parents are calling their child to come downstairs for meal through the Internet.It is certain that Internet makes it more convenient for people to communite for the parent needn't go upstairs to talk with the kid. But, can the electronic communication take the place of face-to-face contact? The anwser is "No" without doubt in my opinion, the reasons why i think so are as follows: On one hand, Internet was born to make people closer instead of stranger, with Internet we can see and talk to our families and friends even we are miles away from them. It plays an important role in distant contact, if we use it to replace face-to-face contact, the only consequence we get is we are not as close with our families and friends as before. On the other hand, face-to-face contact makes us understand the speaker's words better because we can clearly see the eyesight and body language made by the speaker.In short, I disagree that electronic communication replaces face-to-fece contact. How do you think?
