The Dragon Boat Festival Dragon Boat Festival is an important Chinese traditional festival in memmory of the famous poet Quyuan .Personally speaking,it is a marvelous festival with so many interesting and typical customs,and I do enjoy being with my families and observing it in traditional ways. Nowadays people celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival in different ways. For me ,one thing I will never miss is wrapping and eating zongzi ,it is a glutinous rice dumpling together with dates and red beans wrapped in bamboo leaves and it is quite a delicacy.Another thing is to tie the five-colored threads,and to decorate the house with mugwort leaves and calamus which emits special aroma that could ward off mostiquitoes and other insects.Apart from that, some people observe it by holding gragon boat game and throwing zongzi into river.Although there are many people still celebrate it in traditonal ways ,more and more people ,especially those living in big cities ,seldom celebtate it ,they would buy zongzi in the supermarket ,and they would go out for a trip to relax themselves.Given the pace and pressure of modern life today ,they care little about the traditonal festival. Traditional festivals are the great wealth left by our ancester,we should spare every effort to proect it, and more signifiantly ,show our own culture to the whole world .
