I think both learning by doing and learning by reading are good ways for us to know the world. Moreover, I consider learning by reading is a basic which can help us construct a solid foundation before we learn more other things deeply. When we were in a young age, we liked to read some science books which can tell us a lot of interesting knowledge. For example, we know how a butterfly emerges from a cocoon from the book then we go to the garden to testify whether it is true. To children, practicing helps them understand the world clearly, but so does it to grown-ups. A scientist or a doctor, he must read thousands of books before he enters the laboratory or the operating room. It is the same reason when we are reading. What we learned from doing can help us understand the book more easily. The whole learning process in which reading and practicing mingle is interdependent. We can’t just figure out which is better. My grandfather often tells me that I will have a deep impression on the knowledge only if I use it in practice. If you just addicted in reading, you will never know how beautiful the world is. All in all, reading broadens your horizon while practicing is a key to the truth. Which is a better choice is up to you.
