With the development of society,many people,especially some nationalists,assist that people should protect their own language from extinction. I think Dialects shouldn't as acceptable in public places because language is the instrument of communication.Although dialects is more acceptable in the specific areas,they are not suitable to all of the country which has different dialects in different areas. In my opinion,one country should have a standard language which is applied to all of the country and people can understand each other with the this language.They shouldn't understand each other's words if each of them uses their own dialects. For instance,China has a large areas which have different dialects in different regions.Guangdong province has the Cantonese as their own dialect which Kejiahua is the dialect in Hunan province.As the European's standard,the two province's dialects belong to different phonology although they belong to Chinese.If the two people from the two different provinces speak their own dialects,they don't know each other's speech.Therefore,Chinese government has realized this problem from Minguo time and then has to draw a program to popularize the standard language-Mandarin.Nowadays,the mandarin has contributed to the communication of two different people who speak different dialects.The ordinary people can communicate with each other with mandarin without obstacle. All in all,the government should strongly popularize the standard language to help people communicate with each other better.
