Higher education should be open to everyone, regardless of background Education is the equal right to everyone no matter who he or she is, which is the basic guarantee for democracy and human right. The argument that only the elite students should be allowed to proceed is preposterous. Without equal access to higher education, millions and billions of people will be harder to make a living in present rapidly changing times and will be totally weeded by the times, which would greatly hamper the progress of our society. Firstly, without equal access and right to higher education, millions and billions of people will lose the opportunity to gain the tech-edging knowledge, thus losing a chance to receive a decent job, which will also be devastating to the high-tech industries, which are in an increasing demands for talents with relevant expertise. While the elites merely accounts for a very small proportion of society and can not meet the increasingly high demands at all. Also, in a democratic society, deprivation some people of equal access and right to higher education is unfair, which would arouse many social issues caused the public complaints and hatreds. Then, the order of society will be chaotic, which is unfavorable for sustainable development and has great impacts on economy, social civilization and many other social fields, thus hampering the progress of our society. Last but not least, education is equal to everyone, regardless of races, ages, sexes , states and so forth, which is a kind of human right for everyone. As long as he or she want to receive education, no matter it`s lower education or higher education, he or she should be respect at least. Therefore, when it comes to the question should higher education be open to everyone, regardless of background, my answer is absolute "yes". Equal right for any education is everyone`s human rights, which is inviolable, which is the basis of democracy and sustainable progress of our society. It`s the call of the times.
