Heminway said in The Old and the Sea, "a man is not made for defeat, a man can be destroyed but not defeated". This sentence shows the strong mind of a man who is persisting in his pursuit. However, is it true that perseverance makes people stronger? Different people hold different views on this issue, and as far as I am concerned. I cannot agree more with that opinion. My reasons are as follows. My main reason is that perseverance brings us a stronger will. It cannot be denied that, in the pursuit of an ultimate goal, we are bound to go through one failure after another. Only people with a strong will can endure all the twists and turns and achieve final success. What's more, in the process of engaging in our pursuits, our spirits will get further improvement. Therefore, after experiencing all kinds of difficulties and upsets, eventually, they develop a stronger will, with which they are able to deal with various challenges boldly. Sometimes, it is strong inner world rather than gifted skills that really count in our way of realizing dream. Another reason is that perseverance can promote our endurance capacity. We cannot surmount the obstacles of achieving success without a strong mind any more than a dancer can make a difference without enough practice. It would be problematic to claim that perseverance can ensure us a happy ending but it is not the same as saying perseverance is useless for us to approach a fruitful result. In fact, when we are determined to complete a task and consistently persist in the routine, a stronger mind will be available. Confronted with various difficulties, we will never be afraid because a principle has been erected in our minds, that is failure is not afraid, only afraid itself is. All in all, perseverance is of great importance in our life road. It is true that perseverance is not a guarantee of success, but it does provide us with a significant experience. With the stronger will and endurance capacity it gives us, we are able to realize our determinations much more easily.
