Many people think cheap air travel should been couraged because it gives ordinary people freedom to travel further. However, others think this leads toenvironmental problem, so air travel should be more expensive in order to discourage people from having it. Discuss both views andgive your own opinion.

本题是旧题，与2008年6月14日的考题完全相同，与2010年4月10日（见下）的考题也几乎一致。属于科技类与环保类的混合话题，题型为Discursive(Argumentation)。值得一提的是，最近考老题的次数较多，上一次考试（2011年3月19日）的考题与2008年11月15日的完全相同，因此提醒各位考生一定要重视对历年考题的复习。有意思的是，今天欧洲考区的话题同样是科技类与环保类的混合题型，同样是2008年的考过的旧题。题目是科技改变农产品产量与质量的利弊（详见本文最后）。
【话题评价】
环保类写作话题题库中有一个小分支是关于“交通工具”的。从2003年至今，这个分支话题共出现8次，其中2次是问汽车的利弊，6次飞机是否应该被限制（其余4道话题见下）。这些话题的基本思路都是相同的，缺点主要从环保角度去考虑。当然每个话题有不同的侧重点，同学需要认真对待。

作者词汇基础很好，也能较灵活使用学术词汇，望继续努力；作者在句法层面做的很棒；行文稍显不流畅，应增加文中衔接词的使用。
Since the ancient time, human being has been dreaming for flying. It is the technological development which makes the dream finally comes true. Air travels do reshape people’s living models. Youngsters are seeking job opportunities beyond border; newly wedded couples are enjoying their honeymoons on the other side of the planet; businessmen waked up in New York in the morning and joined meetings in Europe in the evening. All of these changes are attributed to the development of air travel. In the foreseeable future, we will not be surprised to have more spacious and rapid planes, and the flights will cost less. Subsequently, more and more people will have their own flying schedules. Despite the convenience air travel have brought to us, it is plain to see that it also brought air pollution problems. The carbon dioxide emitted by one plane per sail could be double the amount discharged by a car for several years. At the wake of environment protection movement, many countries have begun to limit the number of vehicles on roads, but seldom of them have done the same to planes. Given the severe air pollution situation, it is time to consider regulate air travel, too. Some of the travels are just not necessary and could be replaced by other ways. If people do not need to pay high price for the air travel, then they naturally choose the more convenient one though they do not need it at all. So, before the ecosystem getting from bad to worse, governments should work out some plans with aviation industry to stipulate travel lines, emission limitation and pollution tax. By all of these actions, the cost of taking flights will increase accordingly, and then, people may give a second thought when they want to take long distance travels. Ultimately, environment protection lies in the heart of many debates about transportation, and we all agree that it relates to future generations’ well-being and development. So, when it comes to the air travel’s cost and pollution problem, we know pollution matters more and higher cost is acceptable as long as we have a brighter tomorrow.
