Parents have always been nearly the most close persons who provide us with guidence about many things since we were infants. Some people hold the opinion that parents are the best teachers, which I cannot totally agree with. From my point of view, parents are the best teachers in some aspects, but not in all aspects. On the one hand, parents are the best teachers since they can guide us by their own behaviours and they know the characteristic of their children far more than others do. It is obvious that showing a child how to do somthig is much more effective than just telling him what to do, because most children tend to imitate what around them, especially when they are young. Most parents try their best to perform perfectly when facing their children because they want to be the best teachers for their children. For instance, Qichao Liang, one of most famous political leader in China, raises nine children, and nearly all of them have done a great work in their own field. They all believe that their success is contributed to the guidence of their father since Liang examplifies them how to study by himself and assist them to choose appropriate majors based on their interest. However, on the other hand, there is limitation in the fields that parents are familiar with. We must acknowledge that they can not provide us with many efficient suggestions if we choose a path totally different from theirs. Young generation often complain that their parents always live in the old days, rather than the new world, since the world is developing at high speed which their parents cannot catch up with. For example, many parents are not familiar with high-tech, therefore there is no doubt that they cannot teach us how to be more competitive in this field. To sum up, parents cannot be the best teachers in every area due to their attitude. However, we can still learn a lot from them.
