In this era of extraordinary sophistication and versatility, a wide discussion about whether increasing teachers’ salaries would improve quality of education has been aroused and caused grave concerns. Some people argue that increasing the teachers’ salaries is the best way to improve quality of education, while others hold an opposite view. In my opinion, increase the teachers’ salaries do make some effect, but what more vital is to create a complete system of rules that award the good and punish the bad. First and foremost, increasing the teachers’ salaries provide a vehicle for improving quality of education for it encourages teachers to work hard as a reward to the payment. Teachers in China has experienced a long time low-pay work since decade years ago, which resulted in some teachers in public school choose to teach students outside school to earn extra money at weekends instead of teaching all the knowledge to students during weekdays. With increasingly focusing on education problems in our society, recent years vast changes have taken place that salaries of teachers increased with a quick speed. As a result, a data report that researched by a famous university showed that the grade of students have been improved with the increase of teachers’ salaries. However, increasing payment of teachers cannot always be practical. According to a theory in the field of management, encouragement will no longer make sense as long as the salary has reached somewhat top of one value while increasing of salaries still going on. Equally speaking, quality of education cannot be better whereas wasting a lot of money. So we need to find some way else to pursue a better quality of education. In my opinion, instead of increasing salaries, to create a complete system of regulars that can make teachers compete with each other and award the ones who do well during a period of time with a vast of money may be a more efficient way to improve quality of education. With this, teachers will work harder and explore more ways of teaching in order to win in the competition, students will get a better grade with supervise of teachers as well. Some experiments has been done in some eastern cities in China and the result of which proved that it is more efficient to create a system of competition will better for the improvement of quality of education. To put in a nutshell, in this complex world, the issue cannot be given a word to too strictly. Increasing salaries is truly a proper way to improve quality, while not the best way. There are many other methods that need to be explored in order to improve quality of education.
