Opinions about Competition and Cooperation Along with the rapid development of society, an increasing number of people are inclined to compete with others so as to live a so-called better life. Nevertheless, some people claim that no matter how fierce the competition is,we should learn to cooperate with others to enhance mutual development. As for me, I am all for the point that we ought to cooperate with others instead of competing in that cooperation can ease tense relations, promote a better development and teach us to be tolerant. To start with, there is no doubt that cooperation is bound to build good relationship with others. Based on lots of reports, it seems that competition is more likely to make people's relations worse. On the contrary, if you choose to cooperate with others, enemies might become good friends at last. For instance, a nation can be prosperous and strong not for its wealth and large territories but for its humble attitudes towards other countries. In addition, it's universally accepted that cooperation is the stepping stone to mutual development and success. As an old saying goes"We are members of the same society", in other words, an individual can't accomplish anything without the society. Further to say, we need to cooperate with others in the society in order to gain a better development. Last but not least, cooperation is the key to making us become more tolerant to a large extent. Only when we know how to work with others harmoniously can we know what is true tolerance. By virtue of cooperation, we are prone to recognize what our shortcomings as well as merits are, which is good for our self-improvement. If we acknowledge the true meaning of cooperation, we are apt to treat others' suggestions fairly and objectively,what's more, we will not do something terrible to hinder others from expressing their opinions. Based on the above three reasons, I can naturally come to the point that we should choose to cooperate rather than compete. Not only because cooperation can help us build good relationships with other people, but also because it will enhance the mutual development, besides, cooperation can also make us become a tolerant person.
