"Beauty is only skin deep." This expression means that beauty is merely a temporary surface quality. From my own perspective, I totally frown on this idea. On the contrary，beauty is the eternal thing. What's more, beauty is not only appearance, but also inner beauty. A person with good characters is likely to be considered as a beauty,such as Mother Teresa and Helen Keller. It is not because of their charming appearance, but because of their honesty, kindness and strong will. Nevertheless, she is just an old woman with bad temper although she was a girl with a good-looking appearance when she was 18 years old. In a word, good looking is pleasant while spiritual beauty is more important. As an old saying goes, "virtue is fairer than beauty". You own real beauty provided that you have a kind heart.
