I: Hi Fancy! Sit down, please. Make yourself comfortable. Thanks so much for coming and to talk with me today. I really appreciate you meeting with me. And I hope that you could share some idea about health with me. This interview is about 20 minutes. Before the interview, I should check out some information, you agree to take part in the interview. P: Yep! I: Then, there is an important thing I should tell you, if you feel uncomfortable or want to stop, please tell me. And the purpose of the interview is just for research. P: No problem, I’m interested in this topic. I: Ok, let’s start! So today we’re going to talk about health. When I mention ‘health’ what comes to mind? P: I think…..health means that do sport or exercise, healthy diet and slim figure. I: You mentioned you like sport, and which sport do you like? P: I like running! I often run in the morning. Because it is convenient, I needn’t go to the gym and saving money. You know, I am very happy that I can make the friend during running, and then we always do some exercise together. I: Since you started running, what has changed in your life? P: Of course. I feel very vigour, enhanced endurance and efficient work. I: In your life, who you think is the healthiest? Could you give more detail about them? Like what makes them healthy? P: Talk about the healthiest person, I think that must be my grandma. My grandma has a good lifestyle. She sleeps very early every day, weak up early as well. Then, she prefers to go the park or garden, do some exercise with her friends and neighbour. Moreover, she likes cooking and eating more vegetables, fruits, and less meat. (umu) she is a little slim. Despite she is over 75 years-old, she is very healthy. I: So you think that doing some sport and eating healthy is necessary, and which one is more important your grandma? P: Maybe healthy diet is more important, because my grandma has been over 75 years-old, and she is difficult to do acuteness sport or exercise for a long time. So she prefers to eat healthily, and it could help to prevent some chronic diseases like hypertension, diabetes and high cholesterol. I: On the contrary, who you think is the least healthy in your life? P: My roommate! That is a bad lifestyle. She really has an unhealthy schedule. And she usually eats some junk food and less vegetable. In addition, she is very busy, so she often spends more time on study and less exercise. I: You said your roommate’s schedule, so could you give more detail about it? P: she usually goes to bed nearly 4 a.m. and weak up 8 a.m. so that means she only sleeps 4 or 5 hours per day. I: Ok, let’s talk about you. Think back to the time in your life when you were most healthy? Could you describe it? P: That must be I am a senior student when I studied in university. I focused on keeping fit, so I do more sports and eat healthily. I played tennis about 3 times a week. At the same time, I made a lot of friends and we also were willing to have a good shape and lose weight. I: What is the important part for you to keep fit, at that time? P: Self-regulation. You know, I want to lose weight, if I eat chocolate, I will run. I: You mentioned before, you make friends during exercise, and how to make friends affects you to do sports? Is important to you? P: (en…..) you know, in fact, doing sport is boring, my friend and I do it together, and we often encourage each other. Additionally, I like to hear compliments from my friend, like” You're a good figure!” (Laugh) I: um um…In your life when you were least healthy? P: (pause) when I studied in high school, because of heavy academic Burdens, we hadn’t time to do sport, even math instead of our PE class! I: (nodded) P: I had to weak up early and study until 1 a.m. I eat a lot of snacks such as the cookie, potato chips and cakes. They are really non-nutritive. I: so image, if you have a chance to come back the high school, what do you do? P: Great! Maybe I would go to school on foot instead of by car., walking is a kind of sport. And I would eat more nuts rather than chocolates. I would release stress, and tell myself you will be better! (Laugh) I: We’re just about finished: is there anything else you’d like to add? P: When we are young, despite we are busy, we should stay healthy. It would affect all life. I: Thank you so much. INSTRUCTIONS Page 1 of this document is the template for your transcript.
