In our technologically advanced society, it comes at us from all angles ---- cell phone, e-mail, Internet, and television. The majority of the adolescents prefer digital reading to traditional reading. Therefore, here comes the question, will the physical books be replaced by electronic books? Above all, it is necessary for us to know what the pros and cons of both of them are. Two quite different views on this issue as follows. Some observe that digital reading must replace traditional reading. It is universally acknowledged that the digital reading can set aside more time. And you can read anytime, maybe when you are walking, maybe when you are waiting for a bus, even maybe when you are in toilets...... Obviously, we can not read physical books anytime. Of course, digital reading is really more convenient than traditional reading. It is scarcely possible for us to carry a book with ourselves, but carrying a phone is as easy as turning one's hand over. Others observe that traditional reading could never be replaced. Doctors strongly recommend all of us should not read digital books or news too long, otherwise, it is detrimental to our eyes. Educators say making too much superficial reading can not sharpen our reading ability, and it is our loss that we just attach great importance to skimming and scanning instead of deep reading. As far as I am concerned, we really require finding a place which is quiet, comfortable and relaxing, making a pot of tea, and savoring classic masterpieces. What a gloomy affair provided that the physical books are replaced? What is worth our careful consideration is to be replaced or not to be. It is still an unsolved mystery.
