What can we see from Cai's word? American education can cultivate her "ability to embrace multiculturalism", and this ability is Chinese society can not give. If Yang's is established, then, she and Cai Yuing's speech is related to the same topic, that is Chinese freedom of speech, mainly because of the lack of "embrace the diversity of culture" inclusive spirit. In fact Chinese traditional culture is not "exclusive". In ancient times, the output of Chinese culture was synchronized with the input of foreign cultures. It is also because of the recognition of multiculturalism that Chinese culture has been widely disseminated all over the world and even has a great influence on medieval Europe. Embracing multiculturalism also has a strong appeal to Chinese culture. But since the Opium War, everything has shift. Because those too bitter memories, we began to exclude foreign cultures. But I believe that we will be have an increasing confidence to accommodate multiculturalism with China growing economy and influence, and achieve true freedom of speech in China.
