新东方托福高分作文:我居住的城市的优缺点

I lived in Lanzhou, the capital city of Gansu Province in China. It has more than three million citizens and is the only city through which the Yellow River flows. I would like to discuss the advantages and disadvantage in aspects of food, transportation, climate and education. Here I would reference the national famous local dish, beef noodles. It is the most commonly seen breakfast for us and it is extremely delicious due to the night-long boiling of cattle bones soup with more than 70 species and the needle-thick hand-made noodles. Besides, Lanzhou is known for its abundance of various fruits, like sweet melon, apple, peach,and grape. Due to the all day long sunshine and enough temperature viaration, the sweetness is of high quality. Also the numorous food like bunches of lamb, the big plate of chicken, special bean soup and so on makes Lanzhou is a facinating place if you enjoy food. But the limitation here is you may not get access to the food all over the world. Second is transportation. Lanzhou is one of the most essencial transport center in China, which connects Qinghai, Neimenggu, Ningxia, Xinjiang, Sichuan and Shanxi. So it is quite convenient to transport to every corner in China. But the disadvantages is that it locates in the North part in China, and it takes long to reach the sea shore. Third aspect is climate. Here the weather is quite seasonal distinguished but without extreme fluctuation. To some extent it is milder than Beijing. Especially in summer it is a perfect place to cool down. In winter, thanks to the well-functioned heating system, we could wear T-shirt indoors. But the problem to some people is the dryness and sunshine due to high latitude. Even Lanzhou Locates beside Yellow River, it is still too dry to keep enough foliage. Finally we would talk about education. Lanzhou has famous Lanzhou University which is pretty competing in basic research study such as chemical and physics. The advanced Modern Physic Institution of China locates here and has already contributes a lot to the development of physic study. But the primary education here is still lacking behind most cities in China due to the limitation of teacher resource and relatively lower education funds from government. To sum up,Lanzhou is a nice city to live with family numbers which can fulfill most of basic need of modern life, but still regional disadvantages exists to prevent people coming here. If you like the northern food and easy-going people, you would like to live and work here.
