Till today we can still hear a great number of people speaking dialects in many public places, like restaurants, shopping centers, etc. However, some groups of people are against this behavior because in their eyes it is rude to speak dialects in public. While I tend to hold the opposite opinion, namely dialects are acceptable in public places. In my view, dialects are a kind of culture which people should lay great value on it. They were derived from our ancestors and passed on generation by generation. It's necessary for us to realize that dialects are a legacy from the past and we ought to pass them to our offspring. In order to achieve this, the public will inevitably speak dialects because the language should be learned by practicing. Additionally, a certain part of old people could only speak dialects, so we need to consider their feelings about it. As a matter of fact, all the languages are in a equal state, since each of them has its own history, characteristics and meanings. People don't have the right to decide which language should be used or be forbidden. In conclusion, dialects are the language mastered by different groups of people. There is no reason to limit its usage in public, which also contains cultures of various areas.
