The basic plot of the story was that Soapy designed plans to be arrested and these plans always failed. His goal was ridiculous as well as the results of his plans. In the first time, he wanted to get into a high-end restaurant for dinner without money, but the head waiter’s eye saw his frayed trousers and decadent shoes. So he was free. The second time, he took a cobble-stone and dashed it through the glass, but the police did not notice him do that. He was safe. And he was not satisfied, so in the third time, he went a restaurant of no great pretension and then he finished his dinner without paying. The waiter just threw him on the street without calling policemen. He did not be arrested again. The “Arcadia” seemed to be far away. He would try again and again. At the fourth time, he was going to flirt with a young woman on the street so that the police would arrest him, however he was flirted by the young woman. At the fifth time, he was very worried that his dream would came in to vain. So he just shouted in harsh voice and he danced, howled, raved, and otherwise disturbed the welkin. And the police regarded his as normal people and leaved him alone. The last one , he stole a silk umbrella from the gentle man, but the silk umbrella also did not belong to the gentle man. Six times attempts all failed. The Island pushed him to go forward and pushed plots go forward one by one. The plot arrangement of this novel was reasonable, clear and humorous.
