Should car owners be taxed for pollution? With the development of society, more and more people own cars right now. And an argument has been raised in recent days, that is: whether car owners should be imposed for pollution or not? In my opinion, car owners should be taxed for pollution and the reasons vary as follows. As we all know, it is the pollution produced by car that causes severe air pollution, which is really harmful to the environment as well as people’s health. What’s more, car needs lots of petrol, and as there has already been a shortage of the earth’s resources, private car driving may make the situation worse and worse. And taxing people for private car using can be an effective way to reduce the private using of car. Besides, public transportation has been quite convenient these days, so there the less use of private cars won’t cause big problems or great inconvenient for people. Furthermore, the tax collected can be used in tackling environmental problems so the world we lived in will be more enjoyable and the surroundings will be more and more beautiful. All in all, I support that car owners be taxed for pollution for the immense benefit it may bring to us and our society.
