The rapid development of technologies and inventions encourage our life quality to change significantly. In order to promote further development, some people hold the view that governments and companies should share scientific discoveries with others like scientists, while some people opposite this opinion. Personally speaking, I agree that all scientists could be available to every invention and scientific secret. By doing so, the efficiency of inventions will be greatly increased. Moreover, scientists can broaden their perspectives through these opening materials. To start with, scientific inventions made by governments and businesses are on-edge and valuable. Thus, if they can be available to researchers, it is no doubt that researchers would develop various perspectives towards their own study. I will take my research experience for example. I still remember when I was in graduate school, there was a time my tutor assigned a difficult task for me to do. It was a study about using sensors to measure the displacement of the Guangdong Bridge. At first, I just followed a traditional method which suggests using a total station to do this project. But the measurement result was not precise. Thus, it made me upset and gave me a lot of pressure. But later, I thought I can ask Dajiang company for help. Dajiang has measured the displacement of bridges for 30 years. It has the most advanced technologies about measurement. What made me shocked was that unlike other companies which keep their technologies as secrets, Dajiang shares these inventions and discoveries for free. What they intended to do is improving the quality of our life rather than earning profits. After learning their advanced methods, I found I can just use a GPS to finish my work. It totally changes my mind. I think if it wasn’t for Dajiang’s sharing, I couldn’t broaden my horizon. In other words, I would come to a dead-end and my project will be unfinished. Therefore, my own experience makes me believe that if companies and governments can share their scientific secrets, it helps researchers to pop up various perspectives and promote their study. Moreover, It is no doubt that more advanced methods can increase working efficiency. By using secret inventions we can simplify working processes, decreasing the working loads and something like that. As a result, our work or life would be more efficient. For example, as I aforementioned, Dajiang's new measurement method, using GPS technology, helped me finished my job quickly. Traditionally, we have to pay nearly 5 hours to finish a simple displacement measurement. However, it just cost us half of an hour to finish all the requirements now. Moreover, since GPS can operate without human, we can do other things rather operating this equipment during the measurement. Thus, if all scientists can be accessible to all discoveries and inventions that belong to governments or companies, scientists can improve their research efficiency. To sum up, there would be plenty of benefits like improving research efficiency, broaden researchers' horizon if all scientific discoveries can be shared to scientists, and something like that. Thus, I strongly agree with the statement of this issue.
