It is the truth that everyone wants to be beautiful. Doing plastic surgery has become the most talked-about topic. It is now nearly axiomatic that plastic surgery is an efficient way to improve your beauty in appearance. Opinion is still divided over whether this change is a cause for concern or a chance for people to be more confidence about their appearance. From my point of view, plastic surgery should not be encouraged because it is harmful to one's body and mind. Worse still, its harm is irreversible. First of all, there is much statistic show that the failure rate in comestic surgery is high. In fact, comestic surgery is a kind of operation with risks. And the foreign matter implanted into our body may not be safe. There are examples of people who had several plastic surgeries because of changes in the standards of beauty and have thus ruined not only their appearance but also their health. Not only be plastic surgery harmful to one's body, but also to one's mind. It is important to remind that real beauty is a combination of external and internal beauty. If someone choose to do plastics surgeries, it shows one's preference for external beauty over internal beauty as well as lack of confidence in one's character and ability. Last but not least, there is an obstacle for people to seek inner beauty when they are obsessed to this external beauty. Beauty is not everything, it is capability not beauty that determines one's destiny. On one side, with time going by, external beauty is transient while internal beauty remains. On the other side, our mind and energies should be concentrated on cultivation of ability and perfection of character. Of course, everyone likes beauty, but remember the saying"never judge a book by its cover".
