If my foreign friend comes to my hometown, the most interesting place I'd like to take him or her to is Hedi Lake, which is the largest artificial lake in China and the most beautiful lake in my homework. The reasons why I tell him or her are as follow: For one thing, to save the drought in the north of Leizhou Peninsula in 1950s, China government decided to build a canal and a reservoir, called Hedi Lake now. The lake had build since 10th June 1958 and was finished in Step.1960, which saved a lot of people. For another, the lake, a place of interest, attracts many people from all over the world every year. For its huge function and beautiful scenery, many celebrities come and praise it, such as Guo Moruo, a contemporary Chinese poet. It's also called the Silver Lake of Hedi due to its glassy surface. In a word, the Hedi Lake exists at my hometown more than fifty years. It gives my home water and harvest, beautiful scenery and popularity and the love of my hometown. So I am pride to take my foreigner to there.
